My Framing Standards
Every job gets the same level of care and attention to detail. After 27years working as a qualified picture framer I have seen the best and worst in framing standards. I work to conservation level framing as standard. Often working to museum level when costs permit or the item requires it.
The Guild Certified Framer programme is internationally recognised as the qualification for the framing industry. Qualified GCF's are now framing in 25 countries worldwide. The qualification includes Continuing Professional Development to ensure framers stay up to date with best practise and standards.
Framing Styles
Swept
The swept frame is named simply for the sweeps between each corner, also known as Rococo frame and Louis XV style frame.
Our range of Swept, Victorian, Chippendale and Chelsea frames are all hand-finished in a choice of colours and finishes including gold and silver leaf. British made by a family company of highly-skilled craftsmen established over 40 years ago.
Floats
This style involves a gap of 5 - 10mm surrounding the artwork which is fixed to the frame from behind, giving the artwork the appearance of floating.
The trend towards a floating look for artwork means that this is now a hugely popular framing style. With a range of over 50 styles available to choose from, your sure to find the right one at Reveal picture framing.
Box
Box frames are used when framing 3D objects or artwork that require extra depth. Setting the items back from the glazing with the use of spacers and mounts. The box can be lined with mountboard, fabric or paint. This can be used to give items the float look inside a glazed frame. Also known as a shadow box. The range of styles includes natural wood, Veneers, coloured and metallic finishes.
Natural
Natural wood mouldings offer a simplicity and elegance to your framing. Woods include Ash, Beech, Oak, Obeche, Pine, Lime and Tulip. All can be left natural, treated or finished in a range of waxes, stains or paint as required.
Canvas stretchers also available.

Aluminium
Aluminium frames manufactured by the world leaders in Germany.
A range of profiles and finishes including real wood veneers are available. A simple, modern and elegant way to frame a variety of items. Aluminium frames can offer a strong simple profile for larger artworks when simplicity is required.
Custom
When a standard or traditional frame is not suitable I offer a unique custom framing service. I have been specialising in custom frame solutions over the last 20 years. Developing and working on techniques and skills to frame the most demanding requirements. This also allows you to have a truly unique and personalised frame.
